Stoke Community Support Logo
Peter is Chair of Stoke Community Support (SCS), a COVID-19 response project he helped to establish and has played a leading role in since April 2020. SCS supports vulnerable families across the town of Guildford in the UK with free frozen meals. The project has given a helping hand to over 300 families with some 40,000 meals, packed and delivered by a committed volunteer team.

A Trustee of GNDR

Peter serves as Chair of Trustees and Global Board Member of the Global Network of Civil Society Organisations for Disaster Reduction (GNDR). GNDR works across the world to support local communities in their efforts to reduce the risk of disasters, natural or man-made. It’s vision is: ‘A world in which everyone works together to strengthen the resilience of people most at risk and prevent hazards from becoming disasters’.

As a network of over 1600 civil society organisations, GNDR champions the work of local people in their efforts to make their communities more resilient to disasters, including climate change. It aims to strengthen the collaboration, solidarity and mobilisation of civil society organisations, champion localisation, and promote risk-informed development.
